Underwater 3D Photogrammetry Course - None Scheduled
This workshop will teach students how to capture and process images of underwater archaeological sites with 3D photogrammetry.
Weekend of the 12th and 13th of June 2021 in Fremantle
Price - $200, $60 discount for MAAWA members. $30 for student. Any diver wishing to dive on the course must become a MAAWA member. There is a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 students per course.
Course Overview
The course consists of a morning theory component starting at 10am, and an afternoon practical component concluding at 4pm. The following day will be a a morning in the field (in-water if people wish), followed by an afternoon processing.
It will be led by the Maritime Archaeological Association of WA, who have successfully used this technique for the 3DMAPPR and PRIISMH projects.
Training is geared towards divers and snorkellers, but anyone is welcome to join. The same process can and has been used for land-based sites, and we will adapt the training to suit the class. Equipment requirements:
- Agisoft Metashape installed (free trial available - contact us at secretary@maawa.net if you need assistance)
- Laptop with minimum Intel Core i5 processor (recommended i7 or above) and 6GB RAM (recommended 8GB or above)
- Underwater camera (recommended GoPro 3 or above)
